At St. Michael's School, we provide a diverse range of PE opportunities to nurture the physical, social, and cognitive skills of our students.
Here at St. Michael's School we recognise the significance of physical education in a secure, inclusive and supportive setting. That's why we prioritise physical education and it's role in enhancing a pupil's physical development and wellbeing.
We aim to boost pupil's self confidence as active participants in physical activities, embracing our school values of realising of potential, cooperation, respect, honesty and teamwork. We will instil excellent sportsmanship and sporting respect.
In PE lessons, our children cultivate and demonstrate their skills across a diverse range of sports, including Athletics, Basketball, Gymnastics, Handball, Cricket, Swimming, and Hockey. The thoughtfully designed tasks aim to ensure that every pupil, regardless of their ability, experiences success, motivating them to further develop their unique potential.
We believe in providing children with the chance to evaluate their own performance, fostering improvement and a continued enjoyment of success.
Our children are given the opportunity to represent St. Michael's School in different sporting events and competitions. We are actively engaged with the local Football Leaguge and Cross Country, these experiences not only develop personal and social skills but also nurture positive attitudes among our children. Many families support these events, bringing a great community feel to the events.
Our dedicated staff at bring a wealth of diverse skills and interests to our after-school clubs. Each year group enjoys access to a variety of engaging clubs which change every half term, providing pupils with the opportunity to explore their interests.
To enrich the experience, we collaborate with external agencies, introducing additional opportunities for our students. These include bubble football, laser tag and multi-sports, ensuring a broad spectrum of sports options. Whether a novice or seasoned athlete, there's a club for everyone, fostering a culture of inclusivity and catering to varying abilities and experiences.
