The Christmas Tree Festival in aid of the Fishermen’s Mission is being held at St Michael’s Church this week. Many local businesses, schools, groups and associations are all sponsoring a real Christmas tree and decorating it themselves in their own unique way. For the first time this year we have a Christmas Tree and each class have been busy making decorations to display on it. The theme of our school tree is Christmas Carols Around the Tree and visitors to the festival will be invited to look at the decorations the children have made and guess the well known carol. We are slightly biased, but we think our decorations look brilliant! Have a look at the photos on the school website. The Christmas Tree Festival is free to visit so please do visit the church this week and look at all the fabulous trees, the opening times of the festival are below.
On Sunday, to mark the end of the festival, there will be a special service in church at 9.30am, which the Bishop of St Germans will attend. St Michael’s is the only school to be approached by David Miller to perform at this service and currently there are a group of children, working with Mrs Reynolds, to sing in church on Sunday. It would be wonderful to see our school community represented widely at this service so please come along, look at the Christmas trees on show and join in with the well know congregational hymns that have been chosen.
The Christmas Tree Festival is open this week from 10.30am until 4.30pm Wednesday until Saturday with an extended opening until 7pm on Friday evening.
