Multicultural day 2017 , at St. Michael’s was a veritable feast of colour and activity! Some classes arrived dressed in their best clothes, white outfits or traditional Hindu dress. Throughout the day children learned about special occasions, prayer and pilgrimage within different faiths. The day culminated in an amazing assembly, where the children shared what they had learned and Mr. Medlin lead the school in a Bhangra style danced, ably supported by the children in Year 6.
Quotes from the day:
“I learned why Muslims do not have pictures of Allah or Muhammad”
“Hindu brides have beautiful Henna patterns drawn on their hands before their weeding day”
“I enjoyed finding out how Hindu babies are welcomed into the world”
“We had a feast of curry and traditional bread which was really tasty”
