Where in the World?
Our Spring 1 Topic
The children have been super busy this half term learning all about the hot and cold parts of the world. They have engaged enthusiastically in the science and geography cross-curricular learning.
Art and Design
The children in Year 1 have had a lot of fun in their topic 'Where in the World?' They have been learning to use a range of tools to create pattern, linked to hot and cold parts of the world.
To end their topic they designed and created tie-dye t-shirts using the patterns and colours they have explored throughout the half term. We can't wait to see the finished results after the half term break!
Map Work
1C had a fun celebration to end their topic and time with Mrs Whitelegg, our trainee teacher. Mrs Whitelegg brought in a large map of the world to explore. The children had an interactive experience exploring the map and seeing where in the world different animals come from. It was a great way to end our topic.
Sailing Down Under
Summer 1 takes us the Australia! We launched into our learning on Monday by discovering the shipwrecked Endeavour. We found out about Captain James Cook through a message in a bottle and a chest full of facts.
