Keeping Children Safe in Education 2023

All staff understand their safeguarding responsibilities. We ensure we have processes in place to safeguard and promote the welfare of children, providing them with a safe environment that limits their exposure to risks from the school's IT systems. The monitoring and filtering of IT systems are reviewed regularly to ensure their effectiveness.

Operation Encompass

The school is part of Operation Encompass which is a joint project between schools and Devon and Cornwall Police Force. It is the reporting to schools, prior to 9am on the next school day, when a child or young person has been exposed to, or involved in, any domestic incident.

Operation Encompass ensures that a member of school staff, known as a Key Adult, is trained to allow them to liaise with the police and use the information that has been shared, in confidence, while ensuring that the school is able to make provision for possible difficulties experienced by children, or their families, who have been involved in, or exposed to, a domestic abuse incident.
